| Summary, etc | The active monitoring of pathogenic viruses and biomarkers of human and animal contamination in environmental and food matrices allows preventive surveillance and the discovery of new viruses and strains circulating in these populations, being an important epidemiological and health control tool, since they represent major challenges in the fight against diseases, nutrition, and the world economy, negatively impacting the balance of One Health.
